My purpose is to help teams solve the right problems for the right reasons and develop products that make people’s lives better.

WHAT I BELIEVE

  1. Start with the root problem. Not the solution. To get to the root problem, ask the right questions.

  2. To ask the right questions, lead with empathy, curiosity, and creativity.

  3. The best solutions come from cross-functional thinking and diverse perspectives.

  4. The best way to get something done is to get started. The best way to get started is to start small.

  5. The best solutions put the human first. A person's primary task should be being human, not using a product or technology.

  6. Technology should not always be the default solution. The form that the solution comes in should depend on the problem and who it affects.

  7. We live in a world that was primarily designed for the mean of a specific demographic. Awareness, empathy, and gathering more data are key if we want to design more inclusive products that cater to broader user needs.

ABOUT ME

🌎 I care about people. I care about the world. I care about doing an exceptional job.

🚀 I’ve been employee 4 and also employee 100,000+. I’ve been in Junior and Senior Product Management roles, the only Product Manager at a company, and part of a larger Product team. I've lead and shipped software, hardware, and sizing and fit products.

🤓 I worked at Google and was part of the North team that was acquired that brought Focals, the first smart eyewear that look like regular glasses, to life.

🌱 One time I invented a motion capture suit to be used for sports and ergonomics, and developed a piezo-resistive force-sensing system to measure grip force during slap and wrist shots as a biomechanics researcher working with Bauer Hockey. I have gone through several startup incubator and accelerator programs (Techstars Boston 2016 Cohort, District 3 Innovation Center) and have learned a hell of a lot along the way.

🏒 In a past life I was a journalist, working as the Head Writer for Canada for the CrossFit Games, developing science/factual documentaries for Discovery Channel and National Geographic, at CBC, writing for the Montreal Gazette, and as an athlete playing on the McGill Martlets women's ice hockey team for five years and winning 3 National Championships.
